Store Keeper

Key Responsibilities

 

    • Receive incoming materials, goods, equipment, and supplies and verify them against purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, and other relevant documents.

    • Inspect received items for quantity, quality, specifications, and damages and report discrepancies to the concerned department.

    • Properly arrange and store materials in designated locations to ensure easy identification, accessibility, and efficient space utilization.

    • Issue materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to authorized personnel based on approved requisitions or instructions.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records, inventory registers, and store documentation.

    • Monitor stock levels and inform the concerned department or management when items reach minimum stock levels.

    • Conduct regular physical stock counts and inventory reconciliation and report any shortages, excesses, damages, or discrepancies.

    • Ensure proper labeling, identification, and systematic arrangement of all items in the store.

    • Maintain appropriate storage conditions to prevent damage, deterioration, loss, or misuse of materials.

    • Maintain records of stock receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments.

    • Coordinate with the purchase, accounts, project, production, and other relevant departments regarding material requirements and inventory status.

    • Follow up on pending deliveries and coordinate with suppliers when required.

    • Ensure that materials are issued on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis where applicable.

    • Monitor slow-moving, damaged, expired, or obsolete inventory and report the same to management.

    • Ensure the store is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition at all times.

    • Follow company procedures related to inventory control, store management, safety, and security.

    • Maintain proper documentation for material transfers, returns, and disposals.

    • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports as required.

    • Use inventory management or accounting software to record and monitor stock transactions.

    • Perform other store-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Job Requirements

 

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, or a related field will be an advantage. Candidates with an ongoing Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience will also be considered.

    • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Storekeeper, Store Assistant, Inventory Assistant, or in a similar position.

    • Experience in inventory and stock management will be preferred.

    • Basic knowledge of computer software and MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Word.

    • Knowledge of inventory management or accounting software will be an added advantage.

    • Good understanding of stock control, receiving, issuing, and inventory documentation.

    • Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.

    • Good organizational and time-management abilities.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Honest, reliable, disciplined, and responsible.

    • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.

    • Good communication and coordination skills.

    • Two-wheeler with a valid driving license will be an added advantage.
