About Ultra Group
Ultra Group has been building Nepal’s modern living since 1997. Many brands, available across all of Nepal — from Kathmandu to far-west, in homes, businesses, and trusted retail outlets in every major district. We cover the full backbone of a Nepali home: power, water, heat, light, and convenience.
About the Role
Ultra Group Nepal is hiring its first dedicated Account Manager — a Chartered Accountant (ICAN-qualified) who will lead the entire finance function. You report directly to the CEO. You own the books, taxes, audits, and financial reporting that the leadership team uses every morning.
You will manage the Account Officer (and future accounting hires), build the systems that scale a multi-brand operation, and partner with the CEO on receivables strategy across 100+ retail partners. This is the most senior finance role in Ultra Group.
What You’ll Do
- Financial Reporting — own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Translate numbers into insights the CEO can act on.
- Tax Compliance — VAT, income tax, withholding, all IRD filings. Statutory deadlines met without exception.
- Statutory Audit — coordinate annual audits with external auditors. Own audit readiness and clean closure.
- Month-end & Year-end Close — own the close process. Build standardised cadence and automation where possible.
- Receivables Strategy — work with the Sales Manager and CEO on collection strategy across the partner network. Reduce aged receivables.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital — forecast cash flow, manage working capital, advise CEO on financing decisions.
- Team Management — coach and grow the Account Officer (currently 1, growing). Build the finance team as Ultra Group scales.
- Financial Controls — design and enforce internal controls, segregation of duties, approval workflows.
- Banking & Compliance — relationship management with banks, compliance with all financial regulations.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification — registered with ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal). Non-negotiable.
- 3+ years post-CA experience — audit firm or industry. Multi-brand or distribution business experience strongly preferred.
- Strong on accounting systems — fluent across major accounting platforms; capable of evaluating and implementing new ones.
- Excel power user — modelling, dashboards, financial analysis.
- People management — has coached at least one direct report. Will be growing a team.
- Communication — translates financial data into CEO-level insights. Calm, clear reporting.
- Integrity — non-negotiable for a senior finance role with full ledger access.
Bonus
- Experience in retail distribution, appliances, FMCG, or electrical industries
- Experience implementing ERP or accounting automation
- Experience designing receivables automation systems
- Statutory audit firm background (Big 4 or local equivalent)
- Direct exposure to Nepal’s tax landscape and IRD processes
30 / 60 / 90 Day Plan (During Trial Period)
- Days 1–30: Take ownership of current books. Review last 12 months of financial data. Weekly working sessions with CEO. Establish reporting cadence.
- Days 31–60: Own first monthly close end-to-end. Establish standard month-end process. First aged-receivables strategy session with CEO and Sales Manager.
- Days 61–90: Manage Account Officer fully. First quarterly review delivered to CEO. Tax compliance audit completed. Financial dashboard live for management review.
